Exploration of the Effectiveness and Experiences of an Education Program that Enhances Digital Competence Among Early Childhood Teachers
摘要
This study investigates changes in teachers’ digital competence and explores their experiences during a teacher education program. The study used a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative assessments of digital competence with qualitative insights from interviews and reflective journals. The program significantly improved teachers’ digital competence due to a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience with digital tools. Furthermore, teachers’ perceptions and behaviors changed, showing a deeper understanding of the importance of digital education and an active approach to using digital technology. Participation in teacher-learning communities further enriched their experiences by fostering the exchange of ideas. The findings underscore the need for digital competence education for early childhood teachers to integrate technology into educational settings.
