Recent prospective randomized trials and observational studies indicate a pronounced survival advantage in penetrating trauma, whereas blunt trauma phenotypes exhibit mixed outcomes and potential coagulopathy risks. Females of childbearing potential and pediatric patients are also undergoing reexamination of traditional alloimmunization concerns in light of favorable emerging safety profiles.</p> Summary <p>While prospective trials show mixed mortality outcomes based on injury mechanics, WB consistently demonstrates clear logistical advantages and reduced overall transfusion requirements over component therapy.
