Purpose of Review <p>Over the past decade, significant advances have been made in the emergent management of bony fractures. This review highlights novel materials and technologies for fracture treatment and monitoring that have the potential to enhance satisfaction and clinical outcomes for emergency department patients.</p> Recent Findings <p>Casting and splinting technologies have evolved through the application of novel innovative materials and three-dimensional (3-D) printing. More effective commercial products have also been developed to address the limitations of conventional plaster and fiberglass casting and splinting. Additionally, the emergence of smart and sensor-based technologies enables clinicians to objectively and quantitatively monitor fracture healing and recovery throughout the rehabilitation process.</p> Summary <p>Recent technological advances in bone fracture treatment and management hold considerable promise for improving patient outcomes in acute care settings, including the emergency department.</p>

Over the past decade, significant advances have been made in the emergent management of bony fractures. This review highlights novel materials and technologies for fracture treatment and monitoring that have the potential to enhance satisfaction and clinical outcomes for emergency department patients.

Recent Findings
