With the advent of minimally invasive approaches, the field of solid organ transplantation has also begun to integrate these techniques and principles to minimize patient trauma, hospital stays and decrease postoperative complications. These techniques have evolved with available surgical technology, progressing from laparoscopic to robotic approaches, demonstrating non-inferior outcomes with improved visualization, graft procurement size, and patient satisfaction.
