Purpose of Review <p>In this article, we review the current literature on the relationship between hemodynamic flow patterns and glaucoma.</p> Recent Findings <p>Glaucoma is an optic neuropathy characterized by the loss of retinal ganglion cells, resulting in optic nerve damage and visual field defects. Alterations in the vascular flow to the optic nerve head towards the initiation and progression of glaucoma has been researched frequently. A variety of vascular anomalies is observed in patients with Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) suggesting the role of autonomic dysfunction. A stronger correlation is observed in subjects with POAG between ocular perfusion pressure (OPP) and retro bulbar ocular hemodynamic parameters compared with age and sex matched healthy subjects. Distinct features such as higher mean ocular perfusion pressure and lower retro bulbar velocities, higher retinal venous saturation, and choroidal thickness asymmetries are observed in glaucoma subjects. This review attempts to summarize the variability in the hemodynamic factors and its association in the progression of POAG.</p>
