摘要

An investigation of the probabilistic seismic hazard for Kerala State, India has been presented in this paper. A single seismic zone has been taken into consideration while applying the usual Cornell–McGuire approach. The chosen circle of impact has a radius of 500 km, with the Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple in Kerala state’s Payyanur, Kannur District, in its centre. A global empirical relationship-based earthquake catalogue covering the years 1800–2020 AD has been created and standardized. Peak ground acceleration for spectral periods T = 0, 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.75, 1, and 2 s at 2% and 10% probability of exceedance in 50 years period has been determined, and the values are 0.07 and 0.17, respectively. The obtained results were found to be in excellent agreement when compared with IS: 1893-1 (2016).
