On trapping geometry for cold \(^{87}{\text {Rb}}\) atoms in a radio-frequency dressed potential
摘要
The atom trapping in a radio-frequency (rf) dressed potential has been realized by exposing the cold atoms trapped in a quadrupole magnetic trap to a strong linearly polarized rf-field. A hollow shell type atom trapping geometry was observed with asymmetry along vertical direction. The observed results have been explained using theoretically calculated potentials. The size of the shell can be varied by changing the magnetic field gradient of the quadrupole magnetic trap.
