摘要

The aim of this study is to present and evaluate several truncated variants of the plug rocket nozzle. We provide a computational method to generate nozzle profiles. The characteristics of the technique, applied to the two-dimensional isentropic flow of a high-temperature model below the molecular dissociation threshold, are used in the development of a supersonic nozzle. In tandem with profile development, a check of the truncation of the plug nozzle at various percentages (20%, 40%, and 50%) is carried out. To investigate the many related phenomena, a numerical study is performed using ANSYS-FLUENT. When compared to an ideal nozzle, the results demonstrate that truncating the plug nozzle provides higher performance.
