Fault Diagnosis of Gears Using Linear Interpolation-Based Reconstruction of Time-Varying Instantaneous Angular Speed Signals
摘要
The instantaneous angular speed (IAS) has emerged as an accurate and beneficial tool for detecting faults in rotating machines, offering deeper insights and improved knowledge into their dynamic behavior. Hence, this paper focus on gear fault diagnosis through acquiring and analyzing IAS signals. The non-uniformly sampled signals acquired are initially reconstructed into a uniform grid by employing a dedicated interpolation method, enabling then the application of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Spectral analysis of damaged and undamaged gear is performed, supplemented by RMS calculations over defined bandwidth. All the elements mentioned above collectively demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
