Performance, Combustion, and Emission Analysis of Petrol Engine Using Variable Blends

This study investigates the performance, combustion characteristics, and emission profiles of a petrol engine operating with variable blends of fuels and conventional gasoline. The primary objective is to assess how different fuel compositions impact engine efficiency, combustion dynamics, and pollutant emissions. Using a range of fuel blends, including ethanol, and methanol, and combined with standard gasoline in varying ratios, the research evaluates key performance metrics such as power output, torque, and fuel consumption. Combustion analysis is conducted to examine parameters including ignition delay, combustion duration, and heat release rates. Emission measurements focus on pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (PM). The results reveal that while fuel blends can enhance certain aspects of engine performance and reduce specific emissions, trade-offs exist in terms of overall fuel efficiency and the emission of other pollutants. This comprehensive analysis provides valuable insights for optimizing fuel formulations to balance performance improvements with environmental benefits, supporting the development of more sustainable fuel options for petrol engines.
