<p>The focus on measuring and enhancing productivity in MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) has historically been limited. MSMEs play an important part to provide employment in India and their effective operation is essential for economy of nation. This sector is of upmost importance for country’s economic development as it contributes towards production, exports, etc. MSMEs alone contribute for more than 8% of GDP of India, major part of manufacturing output, and provide employment to six crores people. Therefore, for enhancing manufacturing performance MSMEs, technology innovation is an essential strategy that can play significant role to remain competitive. For manufacturing organizations to deal with challenges from global competition, technology innovation is an important approach. This study aims to evaluate the characteristics of technology innovation in MSMEs by collecting data from manufacturing units situated in the North India. The results of the study analyzed by using correlation, t-test and regression analysis indicate that the most considerable characteristics of technology innovation include collaborative networks, financial management, and research and development infrastructure for MSMEs.</p>
