<p>The performance of the fluid pivot journal bearings is determined by the floating properties of the pads. Enhancing the floating effect of the pads is very meaningful content. This problem has been solved relatively completely when the bearing is under constant load. However, in the case where the loading direction changes, this subject has not been published by any research. This study from analysis of oil film pressure distribution on pads found the most suitable location for orifices. This position ensures that the pads are always afloat when the direction of the load changes. Finally, the working parameters of the bearing such as pendulum angle, lubricant oil flow through the gap, and recess pressure are investigated. The results show that if the orifice position is adjusted, hydrodynamic pressure always forms on all three pads even in conditions where the load direction changes.</p>
