<p>This study proposes a coordinated multistage expansion planning framework for distribution networks, incorporating technical, operational, economic, and reliability factors. The complexity of expansion planning arises from the interplay of continuous, integer, and decision variables, all of which impact future investment costs. To address this, a multi-objective optimization model is formulated, balancing investment costs, operational efficiency, and system reliability. The reliability assessment includes non-supplied energy costs and classical reliability indices at each stage of expansion. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through validation on a 33/11&#xa0;kV, 25-bus multistage distribution network, confirming its suitability for optimizing long-term distribution system planning.</p>
