<p>Quantifying yield and morphological characterization help to understand the response of fenugreek (<i>Trigonella foenum-graecum</i> L.) varieties in terms of productivity and perform healthier ecosystem functioning. Total eight varieties of fenugreek were cultivated for consecutive three years during 2017, 2018 and 2019 following RBD replicated thrice at Bastar zone in Chhattisgarh. Soil physicochemical properties were recorded at 0–15&#xa0;cm depth under eight different fenugreek varieties in the selected study sites. The value of silt%, sand%, clay%, EC (dS/m), pH, N (Kg ha<sup>−1</sup>), P (Kg ha<sup>−1</sup>), K (Kg ha<sup>−1</sup>), S (Kg ha<sup>−1</sup>), Zn (Kg ha<sup>−1</sup>), Fe (Kg ha<sup>−1</sup>) and OC % stock was recorded to be 27.3, 47.3, 25.2, 0.15, 6.11, 185.9, 14.8, 202.8, 38.4, 21.7, 6.7 and 0.32, respectively. The biochemical study of fenugreek varieties revealed that crude protein and fiber content ranged between 19.55% (RMT-305) and 20.78% (IFGS-6), and 6.38/100&#xa0;g (IFGS-6 and IFGS-11) to 6.45&#xa0;g/100&#xa0;g (RMT-305), respectively. Results reflect eight varieties differed significantly in terms of yield and growth attributes. The performance of IFGS-1, IFGS-6, IFGS-11, RMT-305 and Hisar Sonali was observed to be superior in comparison with the other varieties. IFGS-6 (109.9&#xa0;days) was the earliest to mature while IFGS-1 (112.6) required the maximum number of days to maturity. Hence, variety IFGS-11 can be recommended for the sustainable production of fenugreek.</p>
