摘要

Our focus in the present research was to follow the culture-dependant procedure to study endophytic fungi morphologically and subsequently subjected to nucleotide sequencing. Finally, we have studied the culture filtrates of fungi to analyse their antimicrobial potential and indole-3-acetic acid production. The fungal extracts were analysed for IAA production with tryptophan at 0.1%, 0.5%, 1.0% level and also estimated without supplementation of tryptophan. Additionally, the effects on the germination attributes of Vigna radiata caused by the application of culture filtrates were also evaluated. In this study, we have isolated ten fungal endophytes from tissue segments of Camellia sinensis, and based on DNA sequencing, ten isolates were distinctly categorized into ten species. Out of ten isolates, 9 showed the activity of IAA. The shoot height under the treatments of eight endophytic fungal extracts exhibited higher significant differences than distilled water and fungal extract of Phyllosticta sp. Out of the ten isolates, the extracellular extract with ethyl acetate fractions of Colletotrichum sp., Pseudopestalotiopsis sp., Penicillium sp. and Phyllosticta sp. showed antimicrobial activity against the four tested bacteria. In the present study conducted, the therapeutically potential and plant growth-promoting behaviour of certain strains of fungal endophytes are highlighted.
