<p>A new species, <i>Lactarius subatlanticus</i> S. Sood, R. Singh &amp; R.C. Upadhyay, described from North-Western Himalayas, India, is an illegitimate name because the name is later homonym that is preoccupied by <i>Lactarius subatlanticus</i> X.H. Wang. Therefore, a new name <i>Lactarius shriprakashii</i> is proposed here. Because of morphological similarities of later homonym with <i>Lactarius subatlanticus</i> X.H. Wang, and to find the phylogenetic relationship of <i>Lactarius shriprakashii nom. nov.</i> and <i>Lactarius subatlanticus</i> X.H. Wang, the molecular analysis focusing on the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region of nrDNA is also provided in support of the proposed replacement name.</p>

A new species, Lactarius subatlanticus S. Sood, R. Singh & R.C.
