Host-Associated Introduction of Amitus bennetti Viggiani and Evans (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) in the Oriental Region, India

Integrating both the morphological and molecular studies, Amitus bennetti Viggiani and Evans (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) is reported for the first time from the Oriental region, India as a host-associated introduction. The legume-feeding invasive whitefly, Tetraleurodes acaciae (Quaintance) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) is identified as a new host for the parasitoid, while Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet (Fabaceae) is documented as a new host plant of T. acaciae.
