Discoveries from the Owl Pellets: First Record of Bandicota bengalensis (Rodentia) and Suncus murinus (Eulipotyphla) from the Andaman Archipelago, India
摘要
We report the first record of Bandicota bengalensis and Suncus murinus in the Andaman archipelago based on the examination of regurgitated pellets of Andaman Barn Owl (Tyto deroepstorffi). Osteological remains, including skulls and mandibles, were recovered from 734 pellets collected across the islands. Remains of B. bengalensis were found only in pellets from North Andaman, while S. murinus was recorded in samples from South Andaman.
