<p>This study aims to revisit the type details of <i>Shangwua masarica</i> and its synonym. We confirm the legitimacy of the lectotypification made by Lipschitz in 1979 and correct errors in subsequent interpretations. A second-step lectotype of <i>Saussurea tadshikorum</i> is also designated following the rules of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN). This paper ensures accuracy, consistency, and nomenclatural stability for <i>Shangwua masarica</i> and its synonym, which is crucial for taxonomic and floristic studies in this important Himalayan taxon.</p>
