摘要

Spermacoce remota Lam. (Rubiaceae) is a pantropical weed of American origin, and is here reported for the first time as an addition to the flora of Western Himalayas, India. Previously, the species had been documented from other parts of India, but no records existed for its occurrence in the Western Himalayan region. The occurrence of S. remota in the Western Himalayas depicts the gradual spread of this weedy taxon into newer ecological regions.
