<p>The railway vehicle vibrations generated due to track errors are a major source influencing ride behavior. The random track errors may affect the occupant’s comfort due to sustained vibrations in railway vehicles. This paper analyses the ride comfort of the railway vehicle model of the Linke–Hofmann–Busch coach. The vertical and lateral response of the vehicle is determined using 27 degrees of freedom of the vehicle model developed using Lagrange’s method. The track is modelled with vertical-lateral random undulations. The analysis suggests that the vehicle’s vertical motion needs to be significantly improved, and suspension parameters need to be changed. The suspension parameters are modified for the optimum vibration total value of weighted root mean square acceleration.</p>
