<p>This study investigates the effect of heat treatment on the corrosion performance of API X70 pipeline steel in two corrosive environments: natural seawater and sodium thiosulphate solution. Steel samples were austenitized at 800&#xa0;°C (HT-1), 850&#xa0;°C (HT-2), and 900&#xa0;°C (HT-3), followed by quenching and tempering at 450&#xa0;°C. Electrochemical testing using Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV) was performed in a three-electrode cell to evaluate corrosion potential, current density, and corrosion rate via Tafel extrapolation. The 800&#xa0;°C heat treatment (HT-1) resulted in the lowest corrosion rate, particularly in seawater, indicating improved resistance due to microstructural refinement.</p>
