<p><i>Garcinia lanceifolia</i> Roxb., an edible and ethnomedicinal tree endemic to Northeast India, was studied for its seed oil composition using spectroscopic techniques. Oil was extracted via cold maceration in hexane, and quality parameters such as acid, saponification, peroxide, and iodine values, specific gravity, and viscosity were evaluated. GC–MS analysis (NIST library) identified four key long-chain fatty acid esters: methyl stearate (56.93%), methyl oleate (29.91%), methyl linoleate (10.75%), and methyl palmitate (2.41%). FTIR and NMR (<sup>1</sup>H and <sup>13</sup>C) confirmed the presence of saturated aliphatic chains, carbonyl esters, terminal methyl groups, and triglyceride structures. The oil's favourable profile indicates its potential for industrial applications.</p>
