Study on the Microstructural Behaviour of API X70 and 2205 DSS Dissimilar MIG Weld
摘要
In industries such as oil and gas, power generation, and manufacturing, the joining of dissimilar material is a common practice to optimize structural integrity, corrosion resistance, and other key properties. Dissimilar joint made of pipeline material and duplex stainless steel is prone to failure due to structural integrity issues such as corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement. In present work an attempt has been made to study the effect of 309L austenitic filler on the mechanical and microstructural properties of X70 and 2205 duplex stainless steel dissimilar weld fabricated by metal inert gas welding process (MIG). Impact toughness, hardness, corrosion and microstructure of X70 + 2205 dissimilar weld was studied.
