In Vitro Formulation and Potential Biological Activities of Metabolites Consortium with High Biocompatibility Derived from Poly Herbal Plant Extracts
摘要
In the present study, the metabolites consortium was formulated from solvent extract of Acorus calamus Tinospora cordifolia, Coscinium fenestratum, Terminalia chebula, Smilax china using green science principles followed by screening of biological activities like anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and anti-microbial activities. The metabolite consortium exhibited notable antioxidant activity, demonstrated by its significant free radical scavenging activity. Furthermore, the consortium did not induce adverse effects on human red blood cell membrane stabilization, indicating its anti-inflammatory properties, which were further supported by in silico analysis. Moreover, the metabolite consortium showed antibacterial activity by inhibiting the growth of bacterial strains. Its antidiabetic activity was confirmed through distinct changes in alpha-amylase enzyme activity upon treatment. These findings suggest the potential utilization of the metabolite consortium as an effective, safe, and biocompatible bioactive drug formulation.
