<p>Industry workers are significantly more vulnerable than workers in other industries to both fatal and nonfatal injuries. This is mostly due to their frequent non-compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE)—not wearing or misusing personal protective equipment. The present investigation employs a robust 4-step research methodology to investigate the reasons for PPE non-compliance. A literature analysis has been used to identify multiple factors including lack of climatic adaptability, poor risk perception, lack of management support, inadequate safety supervision, insufficient safety training, etc. This research significantly advances knowledge and application of safety, aiding academic researchers and industry professionals in their continued efforts to mitigate worker injuries. Additionally, this study offers a novel approach to enhancing worker safety by developing a PPE - SMS (Personal Protective Equipment Safety Monitoring System).</p>
