<p>As part of the revitalization of the Happurg pumped storage plant, works to rehabilitate the associated upper reservoir also began in September 2024. This requires extensive remediation of the subsoil in connection with large mass movements, the construction of a new inspection gallery for sectoral seepage water detection and the complete reconstruction of the basin sealing and monitoring system. Uniper is investing around €250 million in the overall project, which includes as well extensive measures in the powerhouse and the penstocks. The refurbishment of the upper reservoir is the largest single lot of the whole investment.</p>
