<p>The Drinking Water Catchment Area Ordinance (TrinkwEGV) prescribes risk management for public water supplies. The aim of the risk assessment is to ensure that the quality of the water is protected for drinking water use and to reduce the effort required to treat the raw water. This results in the need to consider parameters and risks that are not primarily relevant to health, but also those that significantly determine the amount of treatment required. The practical implementation of the risk assessment can be supported by software solutions such as RiskPlus developed by the TZW (German Water Centre).</p>
