摘要

The determination of flood peaks for annual periods of more than 200 years is a major challenge due to the uncertainty in the estimation caused by short observation series and individual extreme floods. In order to take the potential of extreme floods into account in the estimate, the skewness in the calculation can be maximised. The extent to which a region has the potential for extreme flooding must be taken into account. In addition to the flood crest, the flood depth is also required for the assessment. However, this depends on the type of flood and can lead to different hydrograph shapes and therefore also to different flood levels depending on the triggering factors in the atmosphere and the catchment area.
