<p>Detox therapies refer to various therapeutic approaches. This article focuses on the possibilities of influencing the extracellular matrix. Naturopathic terminology and the associated ideas about acidification are compared with modern research results. The complex network of liver metabolism, immune system and signals in the ECM is examined.</p><p>In addition, the findings from the literature on the topics of plant enzymes, acupuncture/laser acupuncture and phytotherapy are described. From this, more efficient therapy concepts can be derived, some of which have already proven to be more targeted and successful than the classic “deacidification treatment“.</p>
