Case report. Goedaardig maar misleidend: paratesticulaire tumoren
摘要
Paratesticular fibrous pseudotumours are rare, benign lesions originating from the tunica vaginalis, epididymis, or spermatic funiculus. In clinical and radiological appearance, they closely resemble malignant tumours, making diagnostic differentiation challenging. We present two cases of men with palpable scrotal masses separate from the testis. In one patient, an inguinal orchiectomy was performed because it was suspected to be malignant. Histopathological examination revealed a fibrous pseudotumor originating from the epididymis. In the other, an adenomatoid tumor was excised via scrotal approach. Therefore, knowledge about benign paratesticular tumours is essential to prevent unnecessary orchiectomies.
