<p>The insertion of a&#xa0;suprapubic catheter (SPC) is a&#xa0;basic procedure in urology. In this pilot study a&#xa0;handmade training model was evaluated by doctors in training in International Healthcare and Tropical Medicine (AIGT) and urologists. The model offered the possibility to develop ‘bladder feeling’ according to 78.1% (25/32) of the doctors in training and all urologists (100% (7/7)). The model led to more self-confidence in carrying out the procedure according to all doctors in training (100% (32/32)). The model was made in an average of 8&#xa0;minutes for less than 2&#xa0;euro. A&#xa0;large part of the materials could be re-used. Follow-up research will be conducted to determine whether the model can also objectively contribute to improve the performance of the procedure.</p>

The insertion of a suprapubic catheter (SPC) is a basic procedure in urology.
