Case report. Een schwannoom in de nier
摘要
A 59-year-old woman visited our urology outpatient clinic with an incidental finding of an asymptomatic renal mass of the left kidney, discovered through ultrasound. A CT scan and an additional MRI scan of the kidneys, and a kidney biopsy revealed a Schwannoma. After consulting the neurosurgeon, a nephrectomy was primarily performed at the patient’s request, the pathology confirmed a benign Schwannoma. Essentially, a Schwannoma is a benign condition. However, without histology, the malignant nature cannot be reliably excluded, which is why surgery is recommended.
