摘要

A new species of gall midge Yukawadiplosis exocarpi Adair and Kolesik is decribed that causes flower galls on Exocarpos cupressiformis (Santalaceae), a tree endemic to southeast Australia. Infested flowers do not produce fruit. The larva, pupa, male and female are described and illustrated, and the mitochondrial COI gene is sequenced. A new genus, Yukawadiplosis Adair and Kolesik (Cecidomyiidi: Cecidomyiini) is proposed to contain the new species.
