摘要

This study investigates the aerodynamic interactions of a wing-mounted propulsion system representative of a typical eVTOL configuration. A mid-fidelity numerical framework developed in DUST was firstly validated through comparisons with wind tunnel data, then used to provide detailed insights into the effects on performance and flow physics related to the mutual interactional mechanisms occurring between the wing and propeller system in airplane mode conditions. In particular, the effects related to the inboard-up and outboard-up rotation of the propeller blades were thoroughly investigated at different angles of attack attitudes being representative of an eVTOL cruise flight conditions. The comprehensive results of this work were aimed to enhance the understanding and design capabilities required for future advancements in distributed propulsion aircraft technologies.
