Navigating legal and ethical challenges in artificial intelligence: towards responsible governance and innovation in India
摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly revolutionising industries, increasing efficiency and innovation. It has impacted every sector, from agriculture and healthcare to finance, education, manufacturing, and entertainment. These changes are transforming business operations, decision-making, and customer experiences. However, this technological development brings multiple legal and ethical issues that create hurdles for regulators and stakeholders. This research article addresses the risks of legal violations caused by AI technology. It focuses on AI facets like content generation, recommendation systems, and deepfakes, which raise concerns such as data privacy violations, discrimination, intellectual property breaches, election interference, and regulatory violations. The researchers examine these issues using the current Indian legal perspective and relevant global cases. They propose a Responsible AI Governance Framework for India (RAI-GI) and a tailored risk classification method to close gaps in Indian regulations. AI governance relies on ethical design principles, compliance measures, and relevant laws. By balancing AI opportunities with accountability, this paper highlights the need for responsible and sustainable integration of AI in the digital ecosystem while maintaining legal and ethical standards.
