A systematic literature review on blockchain for real estate transactions: benefits, challenges, enablers, and inhibitors
摘要
This paper presents a comprehensive literature review on blockchain applications in real estate transactions. Our analysis delves into the primary advantages, challenges, enablers, and inhibitors of adopting this technology. The central contribution of this study lies in elucidating the intricate connections among these elements, demonstrating that the key benefits offered by blockchain can significantly enhance the primary enablers of process transformation, namely the reduction of high transaction costs and time-consuming procedures. Existing applications are still in their early stages, underscoring the importance of carefully assessing the potential of a peer-to-peer network to minimise or eliminate intermediaries. Further research is warranted to determine which intermediaries can be safely removed without compromising transaction security.
