Vibration Signature Analysis and Structural Dynamic Response of Rotating Equipment under Different Operating Speeds to Predict the Root Cause of the Failures

The work carried out in this paper is part of the research work in vibration signature analysis lab at KLS VDIT, Haliyal funded by VGST, KSTePS, Govt. of Karnataka. The study clearly emphasizes on vibration monitoring of rotating machines. With time, the forces in the rotating machine increases that leads to disturbance and failures. For any rotating machines, understanding possible failures is very critical factor that can be achieved by proper diagnosis and prognosis tool i.e., Advanced Vibration Analysers play a crucial role. In this paper, the work is concentrated towards resonances, vibration responses and structure response that leads to failures. The impact test is carried out on structure to record the natural frequencies and responses are generated at non-drive and drive end to know its health. The study clearly shows the importance of Advanced Vibration Analyzer and its ease of use to carry out the analysis for complex rotating machines.
