摘要

This study explores the impact of paradoxical leadership on group interaction and team effectiveness, with special emphasis on communication patterns as a mediating variable. With rising recognition, paradoxical leadership—that involves a duality in handling conflicting demands—is increasingly believed to bring about adaptive and innovative team environments. Here, the effective communication pattern bridges paradoxical leadership and the team outcome. The basis of this study was taken from SEM data collected from 324 members of 64 teams. The study effectively highlights the role of paradoxical leadership in enhancing team outcomes, showing that it positively impacts group interaction and team effectiveness, with communication patterns playing a key mediating role. Its strengths lie in the robust sample size, use of validated measurement tools, rigorous SEM analysis, and focus on a timely leadership issue, making the findings both credible and relevant. Nonetheless, its generalizability is limited due to the South India–specific sample, potential risks of common method bias, and some shortcomings in presentation quality, which future research could address through broader sampling, methodological refinements, and clearer reporting. The result showed that paradoxical leadership significantly improved group interaction and team effectiveness and that communication patterns made an essential mediator in such a relationship. These teams revealed better integration and performance under the paradoxical leader’s operations, according to open and structured communication. These findings point to the necessity to develop paradoxical leadership and effective communication strategies in the team setting to enhance overall team dynamics and performance. Future research directions and practical implications are presented at the end of the paper.
