<p>The circular economy (CE) is a sustainable method of reusing products by employing recovery processes of reuse, repair, remanufacturing, and recycling. It focuses on creating better products, materials, processes, and business models to eliminate waste. The circular economy offers an excellent opportunity to address pressing global concerns, including biodiversity loss, climate change, and land degradation while providing social, economic, and environmental benefits to individuals, businesses, and communities. The research aims&#xa0;to identify strategies that enable the electronics sector to progress towards CE transition and to examine the current CE models and strategies prevailing&#xa0;in the electronics industry ecosystem. To achieve this, a comprehensive literature study is carried out. The key finding of this study is the extraction of three broad themes of CE transition at the firm level: ecosystem (n = 42), design strategies (n = 32), and circular economy business models (n = 20) along with the identification of research gaps and corresponding research questions under each theme. Based on these insights, the study proposes a novel, sector-specific CE adoption framework with implications for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. This review also serves as practical reference for industry stakeholders seeking to enhance their understanding of firm-level CE adoption in the electronic sector.</p>
