Analyzing the role of convergence innovation in addressing raised hygiene sensitivity norms in the tourism industry
摘要
Technological innovations have penetrated exponentially in all industrial sectors, including tourism, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction. To facilitate technology adoption, convergence innovation is primary key which brings together distinct elements like ideas, concepts, disciplines to create novel and innovative products and services. The paper aims to analyze convergence innovation's role in raising hygienic sensitivity norms in the tourism industry. A questionnaire was designed based on the literature review. Five hundred respondents from various industrial sectors were contacted, and 271 filled responses were collected. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was done using AMOS 22 version. Scale is developed for factors leading to convergence innovation adoption in the tourism sector. The research results show the significant importance of disruptive Innovation, non-disruptive Innovation, incremental Innovation, drastic Innovation, and raised hygienic sensitivity (RHS) in hospitality, food, beverage, travel, and tourism perspectives. The tourism industry has faced a drastic decrease in revenue generation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research paper examines how convergence innovation contributes to establishing higher standards of hygienic sensitivity in the tourism industry. This implies that businesses in the tourism sector should actively explore and adopt convergence innovations to investigate more effective solutions that will lead to enhanced customer satisfaction.
