<p>Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignancies in the UK. Survival rates are known to vary between centres. We report our survival rates for colorectal cancer patients at a district hospital. In addition, we studied the impact of various factors on the outcomes. We conducted a retrospective review for colorectal cancer patients who had curative treatment in our centre during the period from 2017 to 2019. We followed-up our patients for 5 years. We examined the survival rates using the Kaplan–Meier method. The relationship between survival time and other variables was assessed by Cox regression models. Four hundred and five patients were included in our review. Average age was 71.1 ± 10.6 years. There were 237 males (58.5%) and 168 females (41.5%). The 5-year survival rates per stage were 80.9% for stage I, 67.3% for stage II, 55% for stage III, and 10.9% for stage IV. The overall 2-year survival was 78.5% and 5-year survival was 59.3%. We found that male patients, with colon cancer, above the age of 50, who did not have curative resection and received adjuvant therapy, had lower survival rates. Our CRC survival rates are acceptable compared with other studies considering the characteristics of our local population. Different factors such as age, location of the tumour, gender, curative resection, and adjuvant therapy may have a significant effect on the survival rates.</p>
