The Composite Directional Antenna and its Application in Vehicular Communications
摘要
Current methods for broadcasting safety messages in VANETs have two weaknesses. One is the dependence of GNSS to determine the relative position of vehicles and the other is the broadcast storms due to omnidirectional antenna. This paper presented a new concept of an intelligent antenna or composite directional antenna (CUA) for broadcasting safety messages that can greatly overcome the first problem, and remove the second problem. The CUA can determine the relative position of vehicles without dependence on positioning signals in some scenarios. It can differentiate the direction of the source of the signal it receives and determine the corresponding cooperative driving action. The analysis of its application in different scenarios indicates it has great potential in implementing VANETs.
