<p>This editorial introduces a special issue collecting seven papers from the seventh Philosophy of Language and Mind (PLM) conference, held at Charles University, Prague, in August 2024. The papers span topics from singular reference and presupposition to speech-act theory, response-dependent theories of meaning, autistic masking and self-understanding, and Lewisian self-ascription, converging on a shared theme: how meaning and understanding are shaped and renegotiated across individuals, contexts, and social norms.</p>
