摘要

Lithium is a critical strategic element with growing demand in energy storage and high-tech applications. This comment addresses the paper by Nikdel et al. (Carbon Evap 39:25, 2024. https://doi.org/10.1007/s13146-024-00941-w), in which several geological, mineralogical, and geochemical misinterpretations are identified. These include the incorrect stratigraphic framework of the Jajarm deposit, the misidentification of mineral phases, and the unsupported interpretation of Li enrichment and host minerals. This comment aims to clarify these issues and provide corrected geological and geochemical interpretations, based on previously published data and field observations. Comprehensive geochemical and mineralogical studies of bauxite deposits are essential for understanding the distribution and behavior of strategic elements, providing valuable guidance for future exploration projects in Iran and karst bauxite deposits worldwide.
