<p>The Albian-Turonian Sarvak Formation is the second major reservoir in the Zagros Basin in southwestern of Iran. This study focuses on the microfacies analysis, sedimentary paleoenvironment, and sequence stratigraphy of the Sarvak Formation in the Hendijan oil field, located in the northwest Persian Gulf. In this well, the lower boundary of the Sarvak Formation with the Kazhdumi Formation is continuous gradually and the upper contact is sharp disconformity with Gurpi Formation. The tectonic uplift of the Hendijan-Bahregansar paleohigh caused the sediments to emerge from underwater, resulting in an erosional unconformity at the middle Turonian within this field. Eight microfacies have been identified in the Sarvak Formation by sedimentological studies. These microfacies formed on a homoclinal carbonate ramp platform. Within this platform, sub-environments of the inner ramp, the middle ramp and the outer ramp can be distinguished Three third-order sedimentary sequences have been identified in this formation. The upper boundary of the fourth sequence is the SB1 type, but other boundaries are the SB2 type. The identified sequences and sequence boundaries in this study are clearly correlated with the Arabian Plate. The MFS of the first sequence correlates with K110, the MFS of the second sequence with K120, the MFS of the third sequence with K130 and the MFS of the fourth sequence with K140 in the Arabian Plate Studies indicate that the first and second sequences exhibit low to moderate reservoir quality. In contrast, the third and fourth sequences display moderate to good reservoir characteristics. The S1 and S2 reservoir zones have been identified within the HST of the third sequence, while the S3 reservoir zone has been recognized within the TST of the fourth sequence. </p>
