<p>This study introduces a framework for assessing the role of Industry 5.0 in fostering sustainable industrial change. Moving beyond the focus of Industry 4.0 on automation and efficiency, Industry 5.0 blends advanced technologies with human-centered values, sustainability, and responsible digitalization. This framework conceptualizes Industry 5.0 by examining three key dimensions: innovation and technological advancement, human-centric workforce policies, and digital connectivity. These dimensions help to understand how Industry 5.0 promotes economic resilience, social inclusivity, and environmental responsibility. The study introduces a measurement framework based on global indices to assess Industry 5.0’s alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Principal component analysis using cross-country data of 115 countries in the period 2022 -2024, confirms the statistical validity of the three indices, with the Innovation and Technological Development explaining 72.35% of the variance and the Human-Centric and Workforce Development explaining 52.77% and the Digital Technologies and Connectivity explaining 79.64%. These findings suggest that digital connectivity is the best comparative signal of Industry 5.0 preparedness, and human-centric indicators show that there is still no homogeneous development of inclusive workforce. On the policy level, the results imply that countries must not consider Industry 5.0 preparedness as a technological agenda, but a balanced approach toward investing in digital infrastructure, innovation potential, workforce inclusion, and institutional accessibility. The findings show digital connectivity and human-centric investments are the main measures of defining Industry 5.0 readiness, while the gender inequalities that have fed the lack of inclusiveness for industrial advancements persist. For this reason, the framework offers policy makers a pragmatic tool for benchmarking the uptake of Industry 5.0 and for-prioritization of investments that at the same time can drive technological development and social sustainability.</p>
