<p>Although there has been a considerable rise in publications on Knowledge Hiding (KH), the discussion remains somewhat fragmented. Analyzing 118 studies indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) databases published between 1995 and 2025, this review assesses the current findings, identifies gaps, and suggests future research directions. Using the SPAR-4-SLR protocol and the TCCM framework, it expands the KH literature by focusing not only on its negative impacts but also on the positive outcomes. The review clarifies the dimensions of KH and explores its deceptive and diplomatic aspects, as well as its beneficial and detrimental effects on organizations. Furthermore, it identifies KH as a pervasive phenomenon and a knowledge risk that threatens business sustainability. A conceptual framework is proposed to steer future research, emphasizing key questions: what is known and what needs to be known, in areas such as Theories, Characteristics (Antecedents, Mediators, Moderators, Positive and Negative Consequences), Contexts, and Methodological deliberations addressing KH. The findings reveal trends and advancements in KH research, providing practical insights for practitioners and managers. These include strategies to inhibit KH and suggestions for future research.</p>
