Intellectual Capital as a Catalyst for Shareholder Value Creation: a Difference GMM Analysis of Listed Indian Agribusiness Companies

The study aims to ascertain how Intellectual Capital components affect Shareholder Value Creation in Indian Agribusiness companies. Studying Intellectual Capital in the Agribusiness sector is exciting and appropriate because the global agriculture business relies on IC. Using Prowessiq (CMIE) and financial reports, data was collected from 23 Agribusiness companies between 2012 and 2024. Intellectual Capital is measured using the “Extended Value-Added Intellectual Capital (E-VAIC)” model. The present study utilizess the “ Difference Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) regression method”. All the components of Intellectual Capital have a positive impact on Shareholder Value Creation. The results indicate that Human Capital Efficiency is the crucial variable influencing the Shareholder Value of Indian Agribusiness companies. Innovation capital efficiency also significantly benefits shareholder value creation for Indian agribusiness companies.
