Quality Investing: A Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis

Quality investing, a strategy that aims to invest in selective high-quality securities from a long-term perspective, has been a subject of significant interest and debate. This comprehensive research study seeks to highlight the origin and progression of quality investing while identifying the measures and strategies used. By exploring the area of research on quality investing for the past 30 years, from 1992 to 2022, this study, based on a review of 216 research papers extracted from the Scopus database, provides a comprehensive overview of the field. The study uses bibliometric and network analysis to identify the key journals, significant publications, prominent authors, organisations, and countries contributing to the research on quality investing. It also identifies the fundamental signals and quality strategies discovered and assessed in the above-mentioned period. Finally, the study not only explores the past performance of different strategies and quality measures but also highlights areas that have been thoroughly explored and potential areas for future research. This approach inspires and motivates future researchers to contribute to the field and continue the journey of discovery.
